His lips twitched and he noted how out of her shell she was. He leaned down and returned her action.

"You know you're competing against my fondness for cake" he mumbled.

"And that's a bad thing because?" she teased, now taking a turn to play with his unruly hair.

His eyes closed as she began to play with the mess of strands people called hair. Her fingers were so thin and her movements just relaxed his body in a way it hadn't before.

"I don't know" he grumbled his voice showing his distraction.

She cocked a brow and moved about so she was facing him instead of sitting with her back to him, a mischievous glint in her eye. She hadn't been in a playful mood of any sort since her teenage years.
"Are you alright?" she murmured.

He opened his eyes and stared at her in a lazy stare. He had to admit that look in her eyes was a little shocking, but he smirked.

"Perfectly fine" he replied huskily.

After he said this, his eyes closed once more and let those magic fingers comfort him.

Her smile gentled and she admired his features, for it was rare that she'd ever seen him with his eyes closed. She carefully moved her fingertips from his hair down to his cheekbones, tracing the frame of his face.

He felt something pressing against his chest and before he could even notice it happening, it did...he groaned. It was long and low, almost a happy growl and he tensed in embarrassment.

She chortled softly and brushed her lips over his cheek, faintly amused by his awkwardness. Though they were fairly similar in most social aspects, she had the advantage of a few years in general society, and therefore remained a bit bolder.

He was beginning to feel like a puddle of melted chocolate, and his pale skin showing his flushed expression. His hands automatically landed on her hips, but the problem was he didn't know what he was supposed to do.

"You're over thinking this." she whispered, noticing his confusion.
"We aren't a case, just relax."

He nodded not even bothering to open his eyes and he lessened his grip on her hips, rather rub it softly.

"I will" he murmured and leaned up to meet her lips.

She made a small sound of appreciation and allowed her own eyes to fall closed at this, accepting his kiss graciously.

He was surprised by her reaction, no doubt, but the kiss had made all his nerves sharpen and he groaned feeling her return the kiss. His hands moved towards her back caressing her as if she was made of glass.

After all those years without barely so much as a small hug from one of the orphans if she was lucky, having close contact with another was something very much welcomed for Soar.

He pulled back breathing heavily and as he opened his eyes he smiled slightly seeing her reaction as well. His blood was running through is veins heavily and he rested his head against the crook of her neck.

She rested her head on his, her skin flushed. She wondered if he'd changed his mind yet about being unsure of his feelings for her, as he had said earlier.

He wondered just what he felt for her, he knew that he indeed have something there, but the defining of it was hard.

"I seem to be infatuated" he muttered.

She pulled back and looked at him, tilting her head as though curious.
"With what, may I ask?" she questioned, though she hoped she knew what the answer was.

He was a little surprised that he had admitted that aloud.

"You" he muttered.

Even though she had guessed as much from their little bout of romantic gestures, hearing him actually say it caused her heart to skip a beat. It wasn't like him to really say what was going through his head unless it was relevant to the case, so this was extra special for her.

He looked up at the blank ceiling and thought of what he was going to say before he let it slip.

"As much as this is out of character to say, I can see that...that this infatuation could possibly turn me into an enamored being."

She bit her lip discreetly to keep her smile from spreading all over her face, though her eyes betrayed the delight anyway.
"Don't say it like it's a bad thing!" she teased.

He looked up at her and saw her eyes practically shining like two sparkling gems. He smiled despite himself and he shook his head.

"I can't say that it isn't now isn't. I just suppose that I've given up on fighting the losing battle"

"And that doesn't bother you?" she asked, allowing some of the smile to be free now.
If she knew him as well as she believed she did, she would recall that he wasn't one to like loosing anything.

He shrugged and looked at her joyous expression. He hated to lose, but this time, it probably was worth it.

"If it's anything like this pleasant situation then who am I to complain" he replied.
