Touta Matsuda, huh? I'll have to look into that..."Well, I failed to mention this, but you see, my father is chief of police. Maybe he can look into it. If you'd like, I could talk to him about it."Light added.

Looking between the two males in the room, she glowered at Matt.

"I am no possesion, Jeevas. You gotta work for this shit." she then turned to Light "He is!? He'll know Matsu then!?"

"Of course he would. I mean, he would be Matsuda's boss, right? My father is the type who likes to get to know each of his co-workers. If you don't mind my asking, what case was he working when he disappeared?"Light asked.

"Kira, I believe," she sighed. She did miss him...not as much as she seemed to miss Matt, but still "He never told me much of the case."

But I'm doing my own research....and I know a lot about this Kira bastard....

Matt scoffed and leaned back a little further, tempting the chair to topple backwards. Let them talk about Matsuda, he'd get back on Carys' good side when this Light fellow left.

"I guess though," Carys yawned "It's getting late. I should really go to bed."

"Do you have somewhere to stay, or are you crashing here?" she asked Matt, hand on her hip.

Kira, huh? well then....chances are he is dead. Or when I find him and anyone else who stands in my way....heh heh heh....Touta Matsuda. I'll look into this personally.Light thought. And those close to an investigator are a threat that must be terminated as well...but this won't be easy and will take time..."Oh, I see...sorry to hear that... Kira must be a pretty dangerous case."He replied standing up. "I should be going. It was nice talking to you. see you around, carys."He said, heading for the door.

Looking over at Carys, Matt smirked at her defensive posture. "Course I'm staying here, don't I always?"

Carys smiled "You're welcome to come over anytime, Light. It was great talking to you."

As soon as Light was gone, she closed the door and glared at Matt "Okay. Why the fuck are you here, Jeevas!?"

Completely taken aback by her angry tone, the chair clattered to the floor with Matt along with it. "Sheez Car, can't I come see you?"

"One minute," she seethed "I am your 'entire world' and you 'love me', then the next I find you in bed with some slut named Ayame. Then, I don't see you for a whole fucking year, and you then somehow find out where I am, and rock up at my door, no explanation."

"Please, please, tell me how you find this to be okay, Mail."

Uh-oh, when the real name came out, Matt knew Carys was dead pissed.
"It's...er, not okay?" he suggested weekly, not yet moving from his spot on the floor.

"Exactly." she said quietly, glaring at him. She intended on making him feel awful, and it seemed to be working "I think you realise I'm about ready to slaughter you, don't you? And just how are you going to make it up to me this time, Matt?"

He shrank back from her a bit, it was times like this where his usually tough demeanor was reduced drastically.
"I love you?" he tried, plastering an earnest look on his face. He did, too, but right now, he had no clue how to calm her down.

Turning away from him, she sighed. It got her every damn time. That 'I love you'. Every fucking time.

"And?" she whispered, hating how he'd got her already "That doesn't quite cover it....Matty."

He relaxed slightly, rising to his feet and tentatively crossing over to where she stood, touching her shoulder softly.
"And you'll always be my favorite girl - my only girl."

Carys smiled slightly before turning to face him "Yeah, yeah....so you say, anyway."

He grinned and pulled a hand through his hair, mussing it up even more.
"I mean it, you know."

She smiled and placed a hand on his cheek, before pulling away and slapping him quite hard "That's for disappearing for a year."

Carys then pulled him into her and kissed him roughly, before smirking on his lips "And that's for coming back."

The sting where she had struck him faded fast when their lips met, and he wrapped his arms about her enthusiastically. He'd missed this, oh yes he had.

Pulling away, she leant back against the wall "You're forgiven...for the moment."

"Better than not at all." he shrugged, a lazy smile in place.

She sneaked under his arm and tidied up the remains of the tea she'd made and took it through to the kitchen "Whatever you say....So I assume, you're assuming you're moving in?"

"Yeah, that was the plan." was his response. He never stopped watching her as she went about her duties, it was wonderful to see her again like this.

"Well, I suppose you can," she muttered, doing the dishes, before turning back and glaring "but this is your final chance, Matt. Your very, very last one. Screw up and I'm gone for good."
